Ceva India organized first ever exclusive Layer summit "Less is More"
Ceva India organized first ever exclusive “Less is more” summit for poultry layer industry, dedicated to the layer vaccine portfolio, on 21st & 22nd 2024 in Candolim, Goa. The summit attracted more than 80 KOLs and farmers from India. The theme of this year’s summit, “CONTROLLING IBD & KEY FACTORS FOR EFFECTIVE IMMUNIZATION IN LAYERS”
“Ceva is the world leader in vector vaccine technology with the highest number of poultry vaccines registered globally,” said Dr. Anant G. Wadkar, Country Manager India & South Asia, when opening the conference.
The three main speakers developed the topics below:
- Dr. Julian Huijboom, Hendrix Genetics, Area Manager Middle East- presented about managing genetics aspect to achieve optimum efficiency in weight gain and uniformity. He explained several aspects including genetics, environment and biosecurity. Also, he emphasis on right vaccination regime to control major diseases in layers.
- Dr. Marcelo Paniago explained about the key theme “Less is More” in which he emphasized on how Ceva vaccine program can decrease the stress level of pullet by having the less vaccines (new vaccine technology: vaccine recombinant and vector vaccine). He explained the details of Less is More concept presented by Ceva. In this occasion he also explained Ceva solutions which are Novamune, Vectormune ND, Cevac IBird and Vectormune FP MG. Discussed about our veterinary and vaccination services, collaborators and teams that ensure the quality of the application of vaccines in hatcheries and farms
- Dr. Jaime Sarabia presented the interesting topic about Evolution of Layer Vaccination –effective immunization strategy in layers. He explained differentiating features of Novamune & good vaccine practises in layer from worldwide reference. He discussed about How Ceva offer assures the highest immunity levels to the flocks, besides reduce the number of vaccinations about 50%!
Dr. Saravana Perumal, National AVS Manager presented the Vectormune ND efficacy against NDV Genotype-XIII isolated from India and summarised Novamune Indian trial results. He also presented benefits of Vectormune FP MG in commercial breeder/layers along with data on reduction of antibiotics for MG control in Indian condition.
At the end Sankaran Vinayagam, National Sales Director gave vote of thanks & summarised the summit session in brief.
The audience actively participated as they posed challenging questions after the presentations and consulted with the experts on their specific flock health programs. The summit focused both on the practical aspects of Layer vaccination program, as well as highlighting the changes that new vaccines will bring to current programmes.
