POULTRY LESS IS MORE 2026 – CEVA INDIA SUMMIT
Ceva Animal Health India successfully hosted the LESS IS MORE 2026 – Ceva India Summit from 1st to 3rd June 2026 at the Hilton Goa Resort, bringing together leading layer producers, veterinarians, industry experts and key stakeholders from across India. The summit served as a premier platform for scientific exchange, technical learning and strategic discussions focused on enhancing layer bird health through innovative and sustainable disease prevention strategies.
Centered around the theme “Less is More”, the summit highlighted the importance of achieving superior flock health and performance through targeted interventions, optimized vaccination programs and holistic disease management approaches. The event reinforced Ceva’s commitment to providing science-driven solutions that help poultry producers maximize productivity while reducing disease challenges.
The summit commenced with a welcome reception and networking dinner, setting the stage for meaningful interactions among delegates and experts. The scientific program officially opened on 2nd June with a welcome address and introduction to Ceva’s vision for supporting the future growth of the poultry industry through innovation, partnership and technical excellence, by Mr. Sankaran Vinayagam
A distinguished panel of international experts led the scientific discussions, including Dr. Kriengwich Limpavithayakul, Faculty of Veterinary Science at Chulalongkorn University, Thailand; Dr. Marcelo Paniago, internationally renowned poultry consultant and expert; Dr. Adam Jbenyeni, Corporate Scientist Manager at Ceva Libourne, France; and Dr. Fauzi Iskandar, Regional Veterinary Services Manager, Ceva Animal Health & Dr. Saravana Perumal N, National AVS Ceva India. Their collective expertise provided participants with valuable insights into emerging global trends and practical field solutions relevant to modern layer production systems.
The summit’s flagship presentation, “Less is More,” presented by Dr. Marcelo Paniago, which emphasized how strategic disease prevention and well-designed vaccination programs can deliver better health outcomes with fewer interventions, ultimately improving farm efficiency and profitability.
A major focus of the summit was respiratory disease management in layers. During the session on Controlling Respiratory Disease Complexes, experts, Dr. Kriengwich Limpavithayakul, Dr. Adam, Dr. Fauzi, Dr. Saravana discussed the multifactorial nature of respiratory challenges and the importance of adopting integrated prevention and control strategies. The subsequent presentation on Infectious Bronchitis (IB) and Avian Metapneumovirus (aMPV) highlighted successful field experiences from India and demonstrated how Ceva solutions such as Cevac® Ibird and Megamune® have contributed to improved flock immunity and respiratory health outcomes under commercial farming conditions.
Another key highlight was the session on Mycoplasma gallisepticum control, where delegates were introduced to Ceva’s innovative approach utilizing Vectormune® FP MG, by Dr. Saravana and Dr. Marcelo. The presentation showcased how advanced vector vaccine technology can play a significant role in reducing disease pressure and supporting long-term flock performance. An interactive panel discussion and question-and-answer session allowed participants to engage directly with the experts and exchange practical experiences from the field.
The second day of the summit focused on building flock resilience through effective early-life management and disease prevention. Sessions on Pullet Management and Immunization emphasized the importance of establishing strong foundations for lifetime performance through robust vaccination strategies and sound management practices.
Delegates also benefited from a discussion on Infectious Coryza, where experts reviewed the latest disease trends, risk factors and control measures. The final scientific session addressed Infectious Bursal Disease (IBD) and the importance of breaking the Gumboro cycle through effective immunization programs. The presentation highlighted the role of Novamune® in supporting stronger immunity and improving protection against one of the industry’s most economically significant immunosuppressive diseases.
Throughout the summit, participants actively engaged in discussions, shared field experiences and explored practical solutions to the challenges facing modern layer production. The combination of international expertise, scientific content and real-world case studies provided attendees with valuable knowledge that can be translated into improved flock health and farm performance.
