Ceva India organized “Less is more" Layer summit 2025

Ceva India organized “Less is more” summit for poultry layer industry, dedicated to the layer vaccine portfolio, on 4th & 5th Aug 2025, Kochi, Kerala. The summit attracted more than 100 KOLs and farmers from India. The theme of this year’s summit, “CONTROLLING THE MUTAL CONSPIRACY CAUSED BY RESPIRATORY PATHOGENS IN LAYERS”
Ceva India held this summit to address the reality of laying poultry and provide solutions that improve the productive efficiency of farmers using new vaccination services and technologies
The five main speakers developed the topics below:
- Teun van de Braak, Director of Global Technical Service and Customer Support, Hendrix Genetics Layers- presented about layer breeding future to achieve optimum efficiency in weight gain and uniformity. He explained several aspects including genetics, environment and biosecurity. Also, he shared upcoming layer management practices to enhance productivity & control major diseases in layers.
- Dr. Pascal Paulet, Director Corporate Marketing Poultry, Ceva Santé Animal explained about the key theme “Less is More” in which he emphasized on how Ceva vaccine program can decrease the stress level of pullet by having the less vaccines (new vaccine technology: vaccine recombinant and vector vaccine). He explained the details of Less is More concept presented by Ceva. In this occasion he also explained Ceva solutions which are Novamune, Vectormune ND, Cevac IBird , Megamune and Vectormune FP MG. Discussed about our veterinary and vaccination services, collaborators and teams that ensure the quality of the application of vaccines in hatcheries and farms. He explained differentiating features of Novamune & good vaccine practises in layer from worldwide reference
- Dr. Anant Wadkar, Country Director India & South Asia. delivered in-depth insights on how Respiratory pathogens are creating MUTUAL CONSPIRACY, either they damage respiratory system alone or together with another pathogen (particularly correlation between H9+ ND+ IB+ MG) creating an adverse multiplier effect and how can we control it effectively
- Dr. Fauzi Iskandar, Regional Veterinary Services Manager, Ceva Animal Health presented the interesting topic about Evolution of Layer Vaccination –effective immunization strategy in layers. He discussed about How Ceva offer assures the highest immunity levels to the flocks, besides reduce the number of vaccinations about 50%!
- Dr. Saravana Perumal, National AVS Manager presented the Vectormune ND efficacy against NDV Genotype-XIII isolated from India and Novamune Indian trial results. He also presented benefits of Vectormune FP MG in commercial breeder/layers along with data on reduction of antibiotics for MG control in Indian condition.
At the end Sankaran V, National Sales Director gave vote of thanks & summarized the summit session in brief.
